Savory Wine Brussel Sprouts

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs brussels sprouts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (if you use salted butter, adjust the salt added at the end)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or 1/4 cup coconut oil or 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large shallot, minced
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (if you are using a very dry wine)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
  • 2 clean brussel sprout by removing outer leaves and trimming stems. cut lengthwise in half.
  • 3 heat butter and oil in dutch oven.
  • 4 add minced garlic, shallot, capers, red pepper flakes to hot oil. stir for two minutes.
  • 5 add wine.
  • 6 add brussel sprouts.
  • 7 cook over medium heat for a few minutes while stirring to coat all of the sprouts.
  • 8 cover dutch oven and place in oven for 20 - 30 minutes until tender but not mushy.
  • 9 enjoy! i like to drizzle a little raspberry balsamic vinegar on mine.
