Savory Wine Brussel Sprouts

Ingredients
- 2 lbs brussels sprouts
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (if you use salted butter, adjust the salt added at the end)
- 1/4 cup olive oil or 1/4 cup coconut oil or 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large shallot, minced
- 2 tablespoons capers
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 cup wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar (if you are using a very dry wine)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
- 2 clean brussel sprout by removing outer leaves and trimming stems. cut lengthwise in half.
- 3 heat butter and oil in dutch oven.
- 4 add minced garlic, shallot, capers, red pepper flakes to hot oil. stir for two minutes.
- 5 add wine.
- 6 add brussel sprouts.
- 7 cook over medium heat for a few minutes while stirring to coat all of the sprouts.
- 8 cover dutch oven and place in oven for 20 - 30 minutes until tender but not mushy.
- 9 enjoy! i like to drizzle a little raspberry balsamic vinegar on mine.
