Sweet Cinnamon Biscuits

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (8 tablespoons)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 combine flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a bowl and mix well.
- 2 stir in canola oil.
- 3 add buttermilk and stir until blended.
- 4 knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
- 5 roll dough into a 15 x 8 inch rectangle.
- 6 preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- 7 grease a 9 inch round baking pan lightly.
- 8 spread butter over the dough.
- 9 combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well.
- 10 sprinkle over butter.
- 11 roll up rectangle, jelly roll fashion, starting from one long side.
- 12 pinch seam in seal.
- 13 cut the roll into 1 and 1/2 inch slices.
- 14 arrange the slices, cut side up, in prepared baking pan.
- 15 bake until lightly browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 16 remove from oven.
- 17 serve hot.
