Lamb Chops Debreczyn's Style (hungarian Lamb Chops)

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 boneless lamb chops
  • 1 tablespoon shortening (can be replaced by canola oil)
  • 2 -3 beef hot links (or similar)
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (diced, skin removed)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 1 pinch hot paprika (optional)
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 place large skillet over high heat.
  • 2 add shortening.
  • 3 sauté the onions.
  • 4 season lamb chops with salt and pepper.
  • 5 add lamb chops in to the skillet and brown on both sides.
  • 6 add sausage.
  • 7 remove skillet from heat, while stirring add sweet paprika.
  • 8 return skillet to heat, add tomatoes, green bell pepper, water, carraway seeds and hot paprika (optional).
  • 9 season with salt and pepper.
  • 10 reduce heat to low.
  • 11 simmer for 20 minutes or until tender.
  • 12 serve with bread, baguette, penne pasta or rice.
