Nif's Grandpa's Baked Granola

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole oats
  • 2 cups slivered almonds
  • 2 cups wheat germ
  • 2 cups unsweetened coconut, grated
  • 1/2 cup oil (vegetable or canola)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup water (more if needed)

Recipe

  • 1 mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. mix wet mixture ingredients together in a medium bowl. add wet mixture to dry. mix until small clusters form. if you live in a dry area, you may need to add more water - add 1/4 cup more at a time. spread very evenly onto 2 cookie sheets.
  • 2 bake for 30 - 35 minutes at 350°f bake in 9-10 minute intervals, then mix on the pan. make sure that it is evenly distributed so corner areas don't burn.
  • 3 you can enjoy some of it warm but cool completely to store in an airtight container.
