Sweet Cornbread

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 combine dry ingredients.
  • 3 add milk, egg and oil.
  • 4 stir until well mixed.
  • 5 coat 9 inch square pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 6 bake until knife inserted in center comes out clean (approximately 20 minutes).
  • 7 combine margarine and honey.
  • 8 spread over top of hot cornbread.
