The Best Granola

Total Time: 32 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 22 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 8 cups rolled oats (not instant)
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons blackstrap molasses
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped raw pecans
  • 1 cup chopped raw walnuts
  • 1 cup chopped raw almonds
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup dried cranberries (or other dried fruit of your choice, i.e. apples, pineapple, apricots, etc.)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2 in a small bowl, whisk together the oil, syrup, molasses, salt and cinnamon.
  • 3 place the oats in a large bowl and mix in the oil/syrup until oats are thoroughly coated.
  • 4 spread the oats in a thin layer on 2 or 3 cookie sheets.
  • 5 bake for 12 minutes.
  • 6 stir the oats on the sheets.
  • 7 add the nuts to the oats on the cookie sheets and bake for 12 more minutes.
  • 8 remove from the oven and let cool.
  • 9 in a large bowl, mix the baked oats and nuts with all the chopped dried fruit.
  • 10 keep in an air tight container.
  • 11 does not have to be refrigerated.
