Low Calorie Cheese Fries

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and french fry cut
  • 1 tablespoon smart balance light butter spread
  • 1/2 cup nonfat milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup kraft 2% milk shredded cheddar cheese
  • canola oil cooking spray

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
  • 2 rinse potatoes under cold, running water (a colander works well for this); pat dry.
  • 3 spray 9x13 baking dish with canola cooking spray.
  • 4 arrange potatoes in a single layer in baking dish - make sure they don't touch!
  • 5 pour milk over potatoes.
  • 6 drop small pats of smart balance light butter spread evenly over potatoes.
  • 7 sprinkle with salt (and pepper, if desired!).
  • 8 cover baking dish with foil
  • 9 bake for 25 minutes.
  • 10 remove from oven and sprinkle cheese evenly over potatoes.
  • 11 replace foil and return to oven for 5 more minutes.
