Extra Crispy French Toast

Total Time: 7 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • canola oil
  • 10 slices texas toast thick bread
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 ounces maple syrup

Recipe

  • 1 mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon.
  • 2 mix in the eggs and milk to the flour, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon mixture.
  • 3 heat a deep, large skillet, fill up with canola oil just enough to cover the texas toast thick bread.
  • 4 if the oil smokes, your pan is too hot; turn down the heat.
  • 5 with tongs, dip the slice of bread into the batter for 30 to 45 seconds or more, depending on how crispy you want it!
  • 6 let the oil drip off, as much as possible.
  • 7 to serve, put on plate, dust with powdered sugar. serve with butter and hot syrup.
