Extra Crispy French Toast

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- canola oil
- 10 slices texas toast thick bread
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 16 ounces maple syrup
Recipe
- 1 mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon.
- 2 mix in the eggs and milk to the flour, sugar, vanilla, salt and cinnamon mixture.
- 3 heat a deep, large skillet, fill up with canola oil just enough to cover the texas toast thick bread.
- 4 if the oil smokes, your pan is too hot; turn down the heat.
- 5 with tongs, dip the slice of bread into the batter for 30 to 45 seconds or more, depending on how crispy you want it!
- 6 let the oil drip off, as much as possible.
- 7 to serve, put on plate, dust with powdered sugar. serve with butter and hot syrup.
