Low-fat French Toast

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup milk (soy milk)
  • 2 tablespoons flour (whole wheat)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (evaporated cane juice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (i use way more than that)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (sea salt)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (canola or vegetable for frying)
  • 2 slices bread (whole grain, if you have leftover batter, use more!)

Recipe

  • 1 heat a frying pan to medium.
  • 2 whip all ingredients except oil until very well blended.
  • 3 if you're using bread, dip bread slices in batter, fry with oil on both sides until done.
  • 4 if you're using whole grain bread, soak slices in batter for a few minutes, and then fry with oil on both sides until done.
  • 5 *if you want to bake these:.
  • 6 the oil can be mixed into the batter, and baked on a sprayed pan.
  • 7 bake at 350 degrees, 30 minutes. flip the slices half way through.
