Rody's Fried Onigiri

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 cups rice, cooked
  • 5 ounces tuna fish
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • canola oil, for frying
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper, to taste (optional)
  • nori, sheets

Recipe

  • 1 heat canola oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • 2 mix egg into cooled, cooked rice until well-combined.
  • 3 take a spoonful of rice mixture and roll into a ball shape.
  • 4 press a hole into the middle of the ball and add fish.
  • 5 cover hole with more rice mixture and roll until uniformly round.
  • 6 place ball into heated oil and fry on each side until golden brown.
  • 7 set aside on paper towels to cool slightly.
  • 8 season lightly with salt and pepper (if desired).
  • 9 wrap rice balls with nori.
  • 10 serve and enjoy!
