Golden Fried Oysters

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup peanut oil or 1 cup canola oil
  • 24 shucked oysters, drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour, cornmeal, chili powder, salt and pepper. set aside.
  • 2 heat oil in cast iron skillet until it reaches 350º or flour bubbles immediately upon being sprinkled in it.
  • 3 dredge oysters in flour mixture, shake off excess flour and fry in oil until golden brown, about 2 minutes. transfer to paper towels.
